Galliford Try Partnerships North West has secured planning permission to build 116 new homes on a key regeneration site in Droylsden, Tameside.
“Tameside is a fantastic place to live and we are proud to be bringing a wide range of new housing options to the area. ”
The homes will be constructed on a derelict industrial area which sits beside the Ashton Canal. 50 houses and 66 apartments will be built on the development which has been named Waters Edge.
The houses, a mix of three and four-bedroomed homes, will be sold by Linden Homes whilst the two-bedroomed apartments will be built on behalf of a local registered provider.
Brendan Blythe, Galliford Try Partnerships Managing Director, said: “As regeneration specialists we are delighted to have secured this brownfield land for the development of high-quality homes.
“Tameside is a fantastic place to live and we are proud to be bringing a wide range of new housing options to the area. This is a great development and adds to our portfolio of properties across the Northwest.”
The scheme is being brought forward after Galliford Try Partnerships bought the site from a private vendor. Construction is expected to start in summer 2019 with the first homes available at the end of the year.
