Stephen Teagle - Chief Executive

Stephen Teagle

Stephen is Chief Executive of the Partnerships and Regeneration Division.

Stephen joined Galliford Try in 2006 and was appointed Chief Executive of the Partnerships business in 2016. A chartered surveyor, Stephen has more than 25 years’ experience in the regeneration and affordable housing sectors, with time spent both commissioning schemes as well as working in the private sector, giving him a unique perspective on joint ventures, regeneration and mixed-tenure delivery. Prior to joining Galliford Try, Stephen worked for a major Registered Provider, where he was Group Director of Investment and Managing Director of a development subsidiary.

A respected housing commentator, Stephen was recently appointed as Chair of the Housing Forum, a cross-sector membership network of 150 organisations and businesses that collaborates to promote improved supply and better quality homes.

Since Stephen became Chief Executive of Galliford Try Partnerships, he has worked to create a culture in which all employees have the opportunity to build their careers. Supporting the development of employees is a key priority and passion for Stephen who has also acted as a mentor for his team and others.

In May 2019, Stephen took part in his first sky dive for our nominated charity of the year, World Child Cancer, raising money for its life-changing work.

Dena Burgher Business Director

Dena Burgher

Dena is New Business Director (East and West Midlands and Yorkshire) for the Partnerships and Regeneration Division.

She joined the business in 2017, having worked in similar roles for other FTSE250 construction companies and public sector organisations in a career spanning over 25 years in the residential housing sector. Her primary aim is to increase market share and achieve regional growth across the North, at all times delivering strong strategic and tactical input and stewardship to ensure growth consistently meets or exceeds business plan objectives and projections.

Dena is degree and professionally qualified and is skilled at market analysis and positioning. Over the years she has been involved with many high-profile projects across the region including Housing Action Trusts, Prince’s Foundation and Homes England Developer Programmes.

She is a keen weight lifter and has recently taken up wine making in homage to her past father who used to brew most things that he grew in his allotment.

Martin Brimm

Martin Brimm

Martin is Director of Affordable Housing for the Partnerships and Regeneration Division.

A nationally recognised expert in his field, Martin joined Galliford Try in 2007 and is responsible for the delivery of S106 and additionality contracts for both Partnerships and Linden. In addition, Martin is responsible for the Group’s direct Homes England grant programme and is playing an increasing role on joint ventures.

Prior to joining Galliford Try, Martin worked for a number of regional and national Registered Providers and a housing & planning consultant.

Outside of work, Martin enjoys sporting activities with his children, in particular tennis, football and swimming.

Lorren Coaker

Lorren Coaker

Lorren is Joint Venture Manager (National) and Business Development Manager (West and South West) for the Partnerships and Regeneration Division.

Lorren joined the team in 2017 and manages our Joint Ventures with Registered Provider Partners throughout the region, implementing robust governance protocols and ensuring these Partnerships operate efficiently and effectively. In addition to this, Lorren harnesses internal and external stakeholder networks and opportunities, to drive new business for the West and South West Businesses.

Lorren has a degree in Leadership and Management and is a passionate traveller, visiting countries including India, Australia and South Africa.

Mark Morgan

Mark Morgan

Mark is Head of Human Resources for the Partnerships and Regeneration Division.

Mark joined the business in 2014 and is now responsible for the people development and strategy across the Division. He has worked in Human Resources for 20 years and has held Regional, Divisional and Head of positions in the retail, pharmaceutical and construction sectors.

He is passionate about identifying and supporting people to realise fulfil their potential.

In his spare time Mark enjoys sailing, golf and music.

Kathryn Pennington

Kathryn is New Projects Director for the Partnerships and Regeneration division.

Kathryn joined the company in 2017, originally as Development Director, having previously served as Managing Director at Westco Properties Ltd.

She played an instrumental role in the growth of Partnerships’ West Business Unit and has significant development experience.

During her time in the South West she worked closely with Homes England on a portfolio of sites including Blackberry Hill in Bristol, as well as a number of developments brought forward via the Cornwall Land Initiative (CLI).

She lives in Cornwall with her family.

Andrew Rennie

Andrew Rennie

Andrew is Development Director (North East) for the Regeneration and Partnerships Division.

Andrew joined the business in 2018 and is responsible for leading the North East’s Development Team. He is passionate about residential development and is a strong supporter of partnership working.

With more than 17 years of experience of housebuilding and development Andrew is tasked with growing the business in the North-East region. A strong supporter of partnerships working, Andrew is a skilled negotiator and has secured a wide range of residential projects during his career.

Jonathan Peasant Development Director (North West)

Jonathan Peasant

Jonathan is Development Director (North West) for the Partnerships and Regeneration Division.

He joined the business in December 2017 and is responsible for new business and technical, focussing on sourcing and delivering new opportunities for the region which align with the overall business strategy.

Jonathan has 15 years private development and regeneration experience, specialising in assembling and delivering partnership and regeneration led schemes.

He spends his spare time with his family and enjoys following his football team.

Stuart Munro Regional Managing Director (South & South West)

Stuart Munro

Stuart is Regional Managing Director (South & South West) for the Regeneration and Partnerships Division.

Stuart joined the business in May 2017, when the Drew Smith Group (a successful contracting and development company of which he was a founding member and Managing Director) was acquired by Galliford Try. Stuart was promoted to Regional Managing Director in November 2018 and is responsible for overseeing our Drew Smith Southampton, Exeter and Bristol business units.

Through delivering flagship mixed tenure schemes across the south, Stuart has forged long standing successful relationships with local authorities and key Registered Providers in the area. He has significant and demonstrable experience in strategic land assembly, forging a strong reputation as one of Hampshire’s leading house builders.

Outside of work, Stuart has an ongoing involvement with a local charity, Abby’s Heroes, which helps and supports children and their families, including the bereaved, who come under the care of the children’s oncology ward and The Teenage & Young Adult Ward at Southampton General Hospital.

Nick Hodgson - Regeneration Director

Nick Hodgson

Nick is Regeneration Director for the Partnerships and Regeneration Division.

He has more than 25 years of experience working for a range of national housebuilders as well as local authority housing departments.

He has significant experience of major regeneration projects and has an excellent track record for delivering successful public/private partnerships. Nick is tasked with securing and delivering major regeneration schemes across the country.

Outside of work, he is a keen cyclist and recently completed an 800-mile journey from Calais to Milan riding across the Alps.

Leanne Smith

Leanne is New Business Director (South and South West) for the Partnerships and Regeneration Division.

Leanne spent almost a decade working for a housing association before joining the company in 2018. She is now responsible for delivering the company’s growth strategy in the South and for securing new opportunities.

Leanne is passionate about affordable housing delivery and is committed to creating communities by providing good quality homes across a range of tenures.

She is also a Trustee for a homelessness charity in Winchester and leads another successful team in her role as Captain for Basingstoke Hockey Club.

Richard O Rawe - Pre-Commencement Director

Richard O Rawe

Richard is New Business Director (London and South East) for the Regeneration and Partnerships Division.

Richard has enjoyed an extensive career with Partnerships, having originally joined the business in 1994 (at what was then J Hodgson Ltd). In that time he has held a series of roles, including Design Manager and Pre-Commencement Director. He is responsible for developing existing and new client and consultant relationships, tracking new markets and emerging trends, recommending new products and services, and proposing and developing new strategic partnerships whilst making sure the business remains on track with its long-term objectives.

Richard is a keen golfer and also enjoys cycling.

Grace Williams - Head of Communications

Grace Williams

Grace is Head of Communications for Partnerships & Regeneration, whilst also PA to Stephen Teagle.

She leads a nationwide team of communications managers, managing all internal and external communications. She is skilled at working with local authorities and housing association partners to effectively communicate news to a range of stakeholders, including the media and staff. She also works directly with the Chief Executive.

Grace is particularly passionate about encouraging more women into the Construction industry, as she feels she has found her place in something she really enjoys.

Grace joined the company in 2014 and holds a degree in Business. She loves spending time with her daughter, spinning and spa days.

Darren Stirrup - Head of Health and Safety

Darren Stirrup

Darren is Head of Health, Safety and Sustainability for the Partnerships and Regeneration Division.

He is responsible for the management and leadership of a large team of Health, Safety and Sustainability professionals which support all of the business activities both pre and post-construction.

Darren has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and holds a BSc in Building, a IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management and a Diploma in Safety, Health and Environmental Management

Stuart Brodie

Stuart is Regional Managing Director (London & South East) for the Regeneration and Partnerships Division.

Stuart initially joined Galliford Try in 2001 and has delivered many flagship mixed-tenure schemes for the business across London and the South East. He brings a wealth of experience to any project, including a skillset in both stakeholder engagement and management, and high-level leadership.

Stuart was appointed Regional Managing Director in 2018 and is tasked with implementing the business strategy for both our London and South East business units. He has had particular success in leveraging investment and cross-subsidy into mixed-tenure schemes to the benefit of our key partners.

Marc Thompson

Marc is Director of Strategy and Projects for the Partnerships and Regeneration Division.

Marc joined the business in 2011 and is now responsible for developing and implementing our corporate strategy. A specialist in establishing successful joint ventures with Registered Providers and local authorities, Marc is helping the business build a strong reputation for creativity and flexibility within the regulated sector.

Last year, Marc trekked to the top of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco, raising money for – and awareness of – World Child Cancer.

James Warrington

James is Regional Managing Director (Central and North) for the Regeneration and Partnerships Division.

Moving from a nine-year career with Carillion, James joined Galliford Try Construction in 2001 as a project manager. Since then, he has worked for both the Construction and Partnerships Divisions and was appointed Regional Managing Director in October 2018. James holds a first-class degree in construction management.

Away from work, James and his son are avid Nottingham Forest supporters who follow their team around the country as often as they can.

Clare Crawford Business Development and Investments Director

Clare Crawford

Clare is Business Development and Investment Director for the Partnerships and Regeneration Division.

Clare joined Galliford Try Partnerships in 2016. With significant experience working for a Registered Provider, she brings a deep understanding of our key clients’ business models as well as knowledge of the regulatory controls and culture of the sector.

Clare is responsible for developing our new business strategy, for supporting the growth of existing Business Units and for establishing new offices in growth areas. She has expertise in helping our key partners to unlock capacity through joint ventures and the use of innovative structural solutions.

Clare is planning to take part in a sky dive this year to raise funds for our nominated Charity of the Year, World Child Cancer.

Mark Farnham

Mark Farnham

Mark is Finance Director for the Partnerships and Regeneration Division.

Mark joined the business in 2018, having previously held the position of Finance Director at both Linden Homes and Galliford Try Construction, separate businesses within Galliford Try. He has a degree in civil engineering and qualified as a chartered accountant with PWC, specialising in corporate reconstruction and recovery. Prior to joining Galliford Try, Mark worked in the construction and rail industries.

In his spare time, Mark enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, tennis and walking his dog Isla.

Kieran Daya - National Land & Development Director

Kieran Daya

Kieran is National Land & Development Director for the Partnerships and Regeneration Division.

Kieran joined the business in 2019 with a brief to secure sites that will allow us to increase unit delivery and drive our margins. As part of that role, he will be seeking to streamline the planning process once sites have been acquired, enabling us to get on site more quickly and add further to development value. Kieran is a qualified solicitor and holds a MA in Communications.

Outside of work, Kieran is a sports enthusiast, with a soft spot for his hometown football club, Newcastle United.
